Dare to Thrive!

The summer solstice marks the rising of the longest period of light, stretching us up into the heavens as if it becomes an extension of our own limbs reaching towards something more. There is an inner calling, a tendency to lift one’s chin, take a deep breath, and savour the increased gift of light as it climbs towards its peak.

There is also an undercurrent of dread. Knowing that after this moment of ultimate rise we begin our decent towards darkness in the days to follow, eventually reaching its depth in the winter solstice before climbing once again on its journey back upwards.

We experience this natural rise and fall within our own breath, our own deep inhalation and exhalation. Its journey is inevitable and one that offers complete harmony when you surrender to the understanding of universal balance and the rhythms of Mother Earth. It reminds us to trust and ride the storms of the inevitable moments that are part of the human journey.

In the teachings of Human Design and its further evolution into the Gene Keys, the summer solstice brings us through gate 15, the gate of Modesty and love of humanity or not. It is the gate of the humanitarian, a call to service of the Divine light or to succumb to its shadow - Dullness.

To understand the shadow is a means to transform oneself through increased awareness, personal contemplation, and recognition of alternative pathways. To embrace the shadow is to evolve one’s light, so let us embrace the journey through its shadow to extract the wisdom that lies within.

The Shadow of Dullness

Dullness is often disguised as comfortability, a numbing of our senses so that we can ignore the reality of what’s truly happening around us. In its ignorance, it strips us from trusting that we will get through life’s changes and arrive stronger than ever before, yet likely  in ways unexpected or unfamiliar to us.

This disturbs the ego. It doesn’t like change, unpredictability, or even hard work and perseverance. It craves comfort, and so-called peace of mind, seeking it through ignorance, avoidance, and turning a blind eye. We seek it within our homes, jobs, relationships … it separates us from being human and relating to others. It stifles our ability to imagine and has us craving a desire for others to tell us what to do. Just show me the way! It’s cunning and often normalized within society.

Consider for a moment your last visit to a restaurant, bus station, mall, or any other public place. Notice how many individuals are lost to their cell phones, heads down, unaware of others and what is unfolding around them. That distant cry of a child, that individual struggling with their purchases, that look across the room of deep sadness and pain … ignored in the shift of one’s mind and gaze, seeking comfort through any means of avoidance. The shadow is everywhere.

In our homes it blocks out exterior noise and offers comfort in regulated temperature and air flow. It fills the silence with entertainment in the mediums of tv, video games, or music often at the expense of human connection and conversation. “How was your day today” fine .. just fine. Truly, we are dulling our human connection.

The gift of Magnetism

The summer solstice through gate 15 offers us the gift of magnetic love. This is the type of love that truly loves everything. It is the teacher of humanity and the understanding that we live in a world were all things exist. Balance is a part of life. Suffering is a part of life. You can choose to stay in the suffering, within a victim mindset, or you can love what suffering teaches us as humans. How it inspires change, builds compassion, and encourages us to keep walking forward, to hold onto hope.

Mother Earth offers us this vibrational frequency everyday. It is known as the Schumann Resonance, a deeply grounding vibration at 7.83 hertz. To tune into Mother Earth is to come into harmony within self. This is felt as peace. To know and trust that we are safe, we will get through this journey of life, to allow love in  to hold, guide, and support us each step of the way. This is what it means to be modest, it does not all fall on your shoulders.

You cannot carry the weight of the world or it’s suffering. There is a force more powerful than you or I to claim that role. Our job is to accept our personal contribution to the collective energy. What are we emitting through our aura? We are here to modestly embrace being human. Not perfection. Human. To stay grounded and connected to Mother Earth. To be fully alive, present within the existing reality, open to being taught, humbled, and inspired.

The summer solstice is a time of celebration. A time to appreciate the fullness of the journey. To fill up your cup so that in the days to come, when light may feel to be waning, you are reminded to reach into your inner being and extract the teachings of the rise and fall. The inhale and exhale, the sweetness of all things.

Dare to open your heart wide enough to encompass the sufferings of the world and move beyond its grip into the vastness of unyielding light.

Dare to be human!
