Human Design Splenic Center

Human Design Splenic Center

Known as the center of health and intuitive awareness this is where one also discovers their primal survival instincts and relationship to the fears of survival.

As the oldest awareness center in Human Design, the gates of the Splenic Center hold valuable clues as to the role that fear plays out along our quest to embody more faith. In the world of energy, and universal laws, all things exist in balance and opposition to each other. One cannot truly learn faith unless they mindfully journey through the shadow aspects of their fears in order to discover their own truth.

In relationship to our survival, this is where we instinctively trigger the fight, flight, freeze, or fawn response. During the period of our Human evolution when we were being hunted down and fighting for our daily survival, our splenic center was highly reactive. Think of it as animal instinctive behaviour. In today’s world however, we no longer require a need to be in constant survival mode and are now tasked to release the fight, flight, freeze or fawn response in order to evolve into a higher state of consciousness that utilizes our capacity to rationalize, problem solve, and inspire new ways of both being and doing.

This is the foundation of spiritual growth as one courageously examines these primary fears and extracts the wisdom learned through the human evolution.

The Defined Splenic Center

The Defined Splenic Center

If the Splenic Center is colored in (defined) on your chart, then you are gifted with consistent energy to support a natural feel-good feeling towards your health and well-being and offer that out to others. Some may even say your like a giant teddy bear and they love being in your energy. They are naturally attracted to your consistent flow of feel-good energy as a confirmation of the ability to survive in the world, be healthy, and have an overall sense of well-being. Learning to trust your intuition and taking good care of your health truly supports the collective and this includes working through and releasing old fear patterns and behaviours that do not serve the highest good.

How does one fully utilize their defined splenic center? Through listening to and trusting your intuition no matter what! Notice how your mind talk, developed fears, and other people sway your natural instinct.  How many times have you just known something was going to happen? Trust that!

The Undefined / Open Splenic Center

The Undefined / Open Splenic Center

If this center is white in your body graph, you are considered undefined or in the case of having no circled gates in this center – completely open. This means that you are here to truly learn from and grow spiritually through your fears. You are on a quest to consider “Does this apply to today’s world? Is this in the best interest of the collective?”

In your undefined / open splenic center you are feeling the fears of others in addition to your own as they relate to a sense of survival. Once an individual learns to steady this energy through a process of building faith within self, then they may consider what a powerful gift it is to notice another’s fears, state of health and well-being, in order to respond in a way that supports the highest good for all. You are also designed to monitor and honour your own state of health and well-being, making yourself and your needs a priority.

The key to maximizing the potential of the undefined / open splenic is to first know thyself. That means – do not be spontaneous! This is an involuntary reaction to the energy of fear and not of your higher intellect. Stop – pause – breathe – ask the energy, “Whose fear is this? What is it teaching me?”

Taking full responsibility for your health and well-being is key. Rooted in the need for survival it pressures one to consider, “Are you empowering yourself in the areas of health, self-care, finances, and relationships?” We each have a personal responsibility to seek the help from qualified professionals whom we trust to support our individual growth.

Questions to consider.

1.       Am I holding onto relationships, items, workplaces, or living arrangements that are not good for me?

2.       Where can I reach out for the help and support I need? What organizations are available to assist me?
