The Slumber Awakens
What joy is this that beholds my gaze?
What light has pierced the darkness of my cave?
I cannot resist and must venture out to peak.
The call of my heart I must allow to speak.
Alas I have emerged from some place deep within,
A slumbering self once hidden in sin.
A jail of the mind and self imposed fear.
A disillusioned thought of why we are here.
No longer shall I hide in the fears of the mind.
My feet have walked forward - oh, how it shines!
There is no turning back from here,
I have embraced an old friend and shall call her fear.
Fear now walks beside my light,
It does not run or coward in fright.
It is seen for what it is, loved as such too
It has provide much growth and shared wisdom too.
What once debilitated my every step, has now provided a spring to my step.
A joy, laughter, and curious side, as I examine what happens when I no longer hide.
Oh fear and I are now great friends, loving a journey that never ends.
