The Center of Self in the teachings of Human Design is your inner compass opening you up to the core of love within you. Every nucleus within every cell of your being holds the purest essence of love at its core. When you move through the process of your own inner purification, you allow for the essence of love to flow more freely through you and from you. The Gate of Receptivity opens us up to reflect on the direction of the self and ask, “Who is driving the way?”
All too often we allow the mind to dictate our direction, telling us what we should or shouldn’t do. It flows from the very conditioning you have absorbed since entering into the world and coming into the presence of the shadow projection of fears, desires, and opinions of the collective, and what is stored within our own DNA from past lives to potentially clear away in this lifetime if you so choose.
We all contribute to the world of illusions around us and must tune inwards to seek the true direction. We have been given the very power to create the world we see, live in, and experience. Yet we do not understand the scope of this power or how to harness it for the greater good, but we are learning! In focusing on the Gate of Receptivity and the Direction of the Self we are reminded that we are only responsible for what we contribute to the whole. We are responsible for our actions, behaviors, mindsets, emotions, all of which we create.
We have been gifted with the teachings of the 2-by-2 referred to in Noah’s Arc. A representation of the duality of our very nature of existing in shadow and light, and the importance of both the divine masculine and feminine. The Arc is the body of you. But was Noah the driver of the Arc in the stories of the great flood? Or was there a higher power that was guiding the way and Noah attuning through the power of receptivity to this greater force? We don’t aim to support a certain religion or move in the direction of religious teachings, but rather to allow for an opening of the mind to consider the symbolic nature of mystical teachings that have been around for millennia as a means to contemplate for yourself the diverse possibilities that exist.
The Gate of Receptivity is part of the Channel of the Alchemist and part of the codon ring within your DNA structure known as the Ring of Water. The great inner flood that can transpire when we move through the very process of transmuting our lower vibrating energies into a higher vibrational form. Divine purification of your inner and outer waters until you reach your own version of inner harmony.
Deep within you, you know your true direction in life. It takes tuning into your own core strength of trusting that the way and the means will be shown as you travel your path. Life will give you many opportunities to test your resolve and strengthen your inner faith. This is the alchemical process of moving through fears towards faith in yourself and the wisdom stored within your body. We can’t avoid the challenges and hardships of life, they are part of the journey and a means for you to build a deeper and deeper relationship with your higher self as you tune in and open to be receptive to this precious gift of life.
God makes no mistakes. You or I are not a mistake, nor are we broken. The mind and the body have absorbed what is not of its truth and now requires a very gentle and loving process to reclaim back all of your divine self and return that which is not. It is painful to remove the thorns of life and courageous to leave the wound open to heal once that thorn is extracted. It is only the very power of love that has the strength to do that, and this is the essence we must learn to become more receptive to. Let love be the direction and the driver and watch as the witness how the miraculous will unfold.

We are in the time of the rise of the Divine Feminine, not as a movement to honor a woman above a man, as we all carry the divine feminine within us, but as a reminder that all of creation starts and ends with the Yin energy. The act of creation. The birthing of life. Regardless of the gender you identify with, we all entered into this world through coming into form held within the egg of the feminine that carried us through our development until we were ready to be birthed into form. The feminine is the only vehicle designed to create, hold, and offer life. It also encases us in the element of water, and within the vibration of water we feel the depth of our sadness and the longing for connection.
The shadow of dislocation is an emptiness inside of ourselves based on a perception of reality that keeps us separate from who we truly are. We have forgotten to honor the vessel of our body, our divine feminine, and honor how it feels, and what it needs. We have learned to suppress our emotions, ignore our body’s way of warning us when something isn’t for our highest good, and in doing so we have pulled ourselves out of alignment from who we truly are. We have become dislocated from our truth.
So here is the kicker. Can you be separated from the very nucleus that is the pure essence of your truth residing within every cell of your being? The dilemma of agenda is the nature of our conditioning that has us searching outside of ourselves to find a sense of belonging or purpose. We are facing in the wrong direction! We have created an agenda of the heart, terms and conditions to offer and receive love. We have created an agenda of the mind that separates us further from one another as we decide who belongs, what is right, good, bad, worthy.
If you were to rise up and see the planet earth floating in this vast universe, perhaps it would spark a memory that mother earth herself is but a cell on the great body of creation, and we (together) are part of her evolution. Life is a grand ecosystem, is it not?
The Gift of Orientation
The Divine Feminine is the way of water. Water carries the vibration of sound, and it is said that the whales in the ocean carry our akashic records. They are the deep echoes of the vibrational frequency of love calling us home. Your cellular DNA carries the codes of your truth. Your body knows how to heal itself and when it is in and out of harmony. With every Human Design chart I have studied all have a single common theme. They are all a personal design that leads the individual back into themselves to cultivate inner harmony and flow. This is the gift of orientation. To orientate yourself back to your truth. Back to the wisdom of your body, your cells, your divine nature. It requires us to allow the mind to be receptive. To listen inwards to what our feelings, emotions, aches, and pains are whispering to us.
Like driving a car we are in constant need to adjust our inner steering wheel to stay on course, and just like any road way there are times when you lose GPS and must navigate to the best of your ability. But mindful awareness and deep listening is required. It is a state of surrender. A state of trust that brings us back to Unity.
Self Reflection Questions
Do you allow time within your day to tune into your body? To check your breath, your heart rate, your mindtalk? If not, what can you do to start checking in more and more frequently with yourself?
Do you worry about how another is driving their vehicle or the direction they are heading in life? If so, what would change if you were to shift focus towards your own vehicle and own direction instead of placing your time and energy on the other?
When you tune into your body, what is one thing that you know beyond know is a correct direction for your life?
What can you do to support yourself in becoming more receptive to the wisdom of your body?
