What truly limits your potential? You may be feeling the effects of physical stress upon your body during this time as Gate 60: Limitations is being activated within the root center for the collective consciousness. We are also in the crossroads between ending Capricorn Season and merging into Aquarius Season, bringing the elements of Earth and Air together. You may be caught in a whirlwind of your own creation if not managing your stress levels and paying attention to the wisdom of your body!
Human Design / Gene Key Gate 60: Limitations
Felt as a physical pressure to evolve, Gate 60 pushes you to move on with life by accepting your limitations. It teaches us to stop fighting for things beyond our reach and to start looking at what is here right now in front of you, and within your grasp. In other words, to stop comparing ourselves to others, and start appreciating our own gifts and contributions to the whole.
Limitations are everywhere in life: health, relationships, finances, workplaces. In accepting limitations, one places their time and energy on what is of their ability to transform of which is truly only one thing - yourself. Namely your attitude towards life and your belief system around the structure you base your decisions around.
The Ring of Gaia
In the teachings of the Gene Keys, gate 60 forms part of the codon ring of Gaia (mother earth), and is represented as the Justice card in Tarot (one of the 22 Major Archetypes). Its teachings are all about balance (shown as a set of scales) and this refers to Divine balance. The kind of balance between structure and energy, form and evolution. Not the man made structures of hierarchy, time, power, and control. Yet to be human requires you to acknowledge the existence of both the natural and unnatural world to find your balance within it all.
The Shadow of Limitation
The shadow in Gate 60 is limitation, whereas its gift is realism. Realism is found in accepting one's limitations. The dark side of limitation is the attitude we accept and allow to take form in our minds, created from our thoughts. Human’s created language, and we learn to attach meaning and energy to words as we learn and grow. Language becomes the structure we form to feel safe and secure in our environment - yet language creates barriers and is subjected to interpretation. Therefore, your beliefs / thoughts / opinions are simply your own personal attitudes or inspirations. Yet the gift of realism asks, “Are they truly your opinions, beliefs, and thoughts, or do they belong to another and are simply occupying space and energy within your mind?”
In the teachings of the Gene Keys, Richard Rudd shares, our thinking gets us stuck. The way we think about our partner, our enemy, our bank account, our government, our future. We get caught by our minds. Language is the ultimate mental structure. Look at the way your mind sees your life and really examine the ways your thinking limits you.
Questioning Your Mindset
As we are growing and evolving, we are learning to question, “Why do I believe that?” The gift of realism opens our eyes to different viewpoints, angles, and areas for a deeper contemplation as we look at our values, and lean into higher frequencies of love. In learning to find our balance, we can use structures that have been put into place and beyond our control to change, without falling victim to them. This is symbolic of the gardener pulling out the weeds in order to create an environment that truly flourishes. We must become conscious of our limiting thoughts passed down throughout the ancestral lineages that are acting as those weeds we choose to hold onto by accepting thoughts and keeping structures in place that do not serve the highest good.
Consider these phrases:
“We've always done it this way.”
“It’s tradition,”
“It’s who we are.”
“This is what we do.”
We have created economic structures, educational structure, healthcare, governance, religions, cultural identities all from structures of thought that have been passed along generation after generation. In applying the gift of realism, one starts to question, “Why?” Why do I believe that to be true? What if we are wrong? What if there is more to consider?” In learning to question your mental structure, you flood your cells with possibilities. Possibilities carry the ingredient of light, which opens us up to greater forms of community, connection, collaboration, love.
Attuning to the Gift of Realism
In being realistic about your personal limitations (also known as weaknesses), then we start learning to ask for help. We admit that we don’t have the answers and stop pretending we do. We release our pride, ego, suppression, fears, take off our masks, and ultimately break free of the structures that have imprisoned us. This is the ultimate gift of justice, found through the alchemy of realism, as one examines all limitations, weeding out falsehoods, and making peace with one's personal limitations.
You can choose to take lemons and become soured to life, or lean into ways to sweeten the journey through trial and error, shared resources and commandry, turning those lemons into lemonade. The choice is yours and it starts with the seeds that have been planted in your mind and allowed to take root. This is the gift of realism. It is a shift in attitude, and is unafraid to examine all sides, for all exist in the same space. We are light and dark, inspiration and attitude. We are allowed to make mistakes for that is how we learn. What matters is the wisdom gathered along the way and what you choose to accept within the structure of your mind that is creating your reality. Justice teaches us that what comes around goes around. It's the ultimate self-fulfilling prophecy. We can claim an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, or we can wake up to remember we are only hurting ourselves and choose another way. Imagine the possibilities for our future generations when we break free of language and communicate through the frequency of love.
